Weekend fun...

Posted by Rachel Parcell on

I was so ready for this weekend after a long week full of working and starting my online summer classes. On Friday night we went to Happy Sumo (our favorite) and the movie Thor, LOVED it!! Definetly a must see!! On Saturday we woke up early and enjoyed a hike to the Y. I can't believe how many people were hiking, it was a zoo. Drew and I were going up the mountain pretty fast, passing families and large groups of college students. When we reached the top a group asked Drew to take their picture... Drew was facing the mountain so he couldn't see what was behind him, well the rest of us could. Out of no where a plane came flying by the mountain, literally swipping Drew's back what looked to be a foot away but really was probably about 50 feet. The plane was so close it looked like it was going to hit Drew, scared me to death watching it all! Every single person sitting on the Y jumped including Drew with a confused look on his face because he didn't see what happened. It was the loudest thing I've ever heard and also was pretty scary. It all happened so fast I couln't even get a picture, I wish I had one so everyone could see how close the plane got to everyone, who ever that pilot is was stupid to do that. Remember how I said on the way up the mountain we were passing people, well the way down was a different story. I hurt my knee last October running in the Pink Series half mararthon and sadly it is still hurting and I discorved on Saturday that it really hurts when I walk down hill. It took us way longer to get down then up, group after group were passing us. Drew gave me a piggy back ride down most of the way but by the end it took more effort to hang on to Drew through all the bouncing of him walking down the hill that it was just easier to walk down myself. We eventually made it down and I survived. After, Drew, Walt and Tyler came over to the house to work on the yard. Drew is putting a sprinkler system in our backyard all by himself, he is seriously so handy. I can't wait until it's done so I can plant trees and flowers in our yard. For dinner we went to a new mexican restraunt called Millagros (same chef as Bajio) it's one of mine and Drew's favorite places to eat, after we went to yogurt land then went home and watched a movie. I'm so glad I have a constant side-kick with me that I have so much fun with, what a fun weekend!
