No matter how I spend Valentine's Day—on a date with Drew, on vacation, or just at home with my family—I always try to spend a little time for myself to relax, recharge, and reconnect. Adding a few rose petals makes the evening feel extra special... just grab your favorite drink and a good book, and turn on some relaxing music to complete the spa vibe! I love creating a space of quiet, relaxation, and self-care for any holiday, but especially one that's all about love and reconnection. Here are 14 self-care affirmations to help get you started for on your Valentine's Day!


I love using daily mantras and rituals to feel grounded and peaceful. Little affirmations like these are actually scientifically proven to help you overcome negative or self-sabotaging thoughts. It's a simple but effective way to clear out those mental cobwebs...

Start with one positive thing a day... At RP we call it our "Daily Pause." I like to start off our meetings with everyone talking about something positive from our weekends. This brings a cheerful and productive mindset to the group.

Something I also love to do for special occasions is reconnect with my 5-minute journal habit. I spend so much time rushing around and blogging and taking care of my family, so it's nice to be able to sit down, meditate, and write things down for just myself. I love using these easy self-care gratitude print-outs every so often: they help me put positive intentions down on paper, as well as remind me of all my blessings as a mom, wife, sister, friend, and business owner.
