DIY: Lemonade Bar…

fresh-summer-lemonade

Summer is always one of my very favorite times of year. I love all the festivities that come with the season, especially BBQ get togethers with friends and family! Typically, when my family gets together for a BBQ, each of us have a food assignment to bring. For our Fourth of July BBQ, I was in charge of beverages and I wanted to do something more festive and creative than just bringing a bottle of lemonade and water.

Today, I’m sharing how to put a mini Lemonade bar together, the perfect beverage addition to any summer get-together you’re either hosting or attending!

Tray: West Elm | Glass Bottles: Macy’s | Small Bowls: Williams Sonoma | Straws: Ferbish Studio (love the red and pink too)

You’ll need:

{for the lemonade}

  • Two flavors of Lemonade (I used Simply Lemonade and Simply Lemonade with Blueberry)
  • One bottle of Pellegrino
  • One Lemon
  • Mint leaf
  • 1 cup Blackberries
  • 1 cup Raspberries
  • 1 cup Blueberries

{for the “bar”}

  • A medium size tray (I got mine from West Elm)
  • Two glass bottles (I got mine from Macy’s)
  • Three small bowls
  • One mason jar
  • A stack of clear plastic cups
  • A handful of decorative straws

Instructions:

  • Pour each flavor of lemonade into the glass bottles.
  • Add a few mint leaves, lemons and berries to the top of each bottle (see photo 6).
  • Place remaining lemons, mint leaves and berries in the three small bowls (see photo 8).
  • Place the straws into the mason jar and add the lemonade, Pellegrino, toppings and plastic cups onto the tray (see photo 8).

Notes:

  • I place a bowl of ice and a scooper next to the tray.
  • Each person can built their own drink, but my favorite combo is: ice, a 1/3 cup pellegrino and the rest lemonade, then I top it off with a few mint leaves, lemons and berries.

  1. I love this! What’s great is that you can have this and kids can partake in it as well as adults. Plus, I’m Cuban so there are only a few things missing for this to be a mojito or lemonade bar. Definitely trying this out for what’s left of the summer! :)

  2. This is very festive & creative!! I love that it doesn’t take much work! It’s also an idea that both adults & kids will love! Thanks for sharing a great idea for summer fun.

  3. I love this idea! Going to copy for a party tonight. I’m not sure if you share home things, but where did you find your lights above your table. We just started building and I love those. xo

  4. .You don’t have to post this comment, but as a reader I find your pictures difficult to look at because they are over exposed. In the picture where you are holding the tray it doesn’t even look like you have arms. More contrast would do your pictures better. I’m not a professional or anything but it would nice to see more contrast.

  5. So gorgeous as always! I have been lemonade crazy this summer; my favorite addition though is lavender! It smells fantastic, adds great flavor, it makes lemonade feel fancy!

  6. How could you have a “DIY Lemonade Bar” and not even make your own lemonade? It is SO easy to make, literally all you do is juice lemons and mix it with sugar and water. In whatever ratio tastes good.

    This post was misleading.

    1. Alexandra,

The DIY was creating the lemonade bar, not sharing a recipe. Sorry if it was mis-leading, it wasn’t intended for that.

  7. Hi Rachel, I don’t normally leave comments on blogs, but I just wanted to thank you for the crock pot taco recipe you posted a few weeks ago. It was fantastic and my family loved them. Thank you again, Melanie Williams

  8. Would you mind sharing the brand/where you purchased your wicker looking bar stools? The posts of your home are so lovely!

    Thanks! R
