Step Inside My Closet…

Some of you ladies may have seen my announcement post in April that one of my favorite local magazines, Utah Style and Design, shot my closet in January for their spring 2020 issue. I was honored that a publication I admire and have read for years selected my home for their cover.

A few days before the magazine was set to hit newsstands, COVID-19 spiked in the US and every state started to go on lock down. It didn’t feel quite right to share my closet tour at the time so I held off on posting. There is so much going on in the world right now, and to be honest, it still feels uncomfortable to be sharing something as trivial as a closet tour right now BUT the summer issue of Utah Style and Design is about to come out so I wanted to do a proper post of this space and support all the local businesses and talent that went into this closet/dressing room space.

Below are local designers and craftsman who helped bring this closet to a reality and I wanted to take the time to highlight each business.

  3. Such a gOrgeous closet! May i ask, whAt you do with all your luxury purse boxes? Do keep tHem, toss, or store them someWhere out of sight? I feel like they take up so much space in my own closet but i don’t want to toss them just in case i ever decide to sell any. But i also don’t want them in my closet. Haha! What to do!?

  5. It’s too beaUtiful for words. EverY detail is exquisite and well thought out. I am curious about wheRe you hang All your long dresses. Other than a small section in the far right, I don’t see where your dresses are hung. CoNgratulATions on This MAGNIFICENT project.

  6. Wow. Your dressing room is truly stunning. I’m actually building mine right now and still don’t know what kind of floors should I get. A carpet or hard floor. I guess a carpet is more appropriate, but I hate the dust.
anyways, you have the prettiest closet.

  7. I can see it changed from the 2017 version (https://rachelparcell.com/my-closet-revamp/). I am not getting the same glamorous vibe as it had back then. Don’t get me wrong, It’s fine, but i miss the spacious footwear section, it looks much more squeezed in now. cabinet fronts are little less glamorous. What I want to say is that I liked it better before and will use the previous version for REFERENCE and inspiration. you have a BEAUTIFUL home. Thank you for sharing this. stay safe!

  8. i love your home posts! My favorite features are the gorgeous doors, the lighting fixtures, and the carpet. So chic! And if you ever wish to sell that double, pink bow pamela munson hat, I’ll gladly take it ;)

  9. i HAVE ALWAYS BEEN CURIOUS ABOUT CLOSETS SET UP LIKE THIS — DO YOU ACTUALLY USE THAT CHAIR, OR IS IT DECORATIVE? DO PEOPLE LOUNGE IN THEIR CLOSETS WHEN IT’S SUCH A PRETTY SPACE? LOL
