My Tips for Holiday Planning

My Tips for Holiday Planning

Posted by Jordan Lee on

It’s the most wonderful time of the year– and also the busiest! There’s holiday parties, family events, gift shopping, and so much more. It can be hard to keep track of everything! I treat prepping for the holidays like a project. And how do I tackle a project? I write everything down and PLAN! My Blue Sky planner is a life saver.Below, I’ve listed some of my best tips for planning for the holiday season so you don’t get overwhelmed and can enjoy spending time with your loved ones. I hope you find my tips helpful!

1. Know your schedule, write it down!
Parties, performances, dinner, relatives coming into town, there’s so much going on during the holidays, it can be hard to keep track of all the important dates. It may seem silly, but physically writing down dates in your planner or calendar can really help you remember, so you don’t double book yourself.

2. Write down your shopping list, plan your shopping!
I like to write down what gifts I am getting for each person on my list and then plan my shopping trips based on where I need to go. This helps so much because then I don’t find myself driving all across town to two different places in one day! If I can find something online that can be delivered, even better!

3. Plan Some Me-time
The holidays are all about spending time with family and loved ones, but don’t forget to take care of yourself! Holiday burnout can feel terrible, so it’s important to give yourself some grace and allow yourself to relax every now and then. This doesn’t mean you need to block out a whole day to treat yourself or book a spa day (although you definitely can!). Even carving out 30 minutes of your day to take a bath, read a book, or watch a movie by yourself can give you so much peace! If you’re like me, you do a lot during the holidays, and you deserve a break!
I hope these tips help you plan a successful and fun holiday season!
