There's no place like home for the holidays!!! It has been FREEZING cold lately here in Utah (not much snow, but bitter cold temps and winds) so we've been staying bundled up in our jammies cozied by the fire as much as we can! It's my favorite spot in the house!
A couple months ago Drew brought home an Echo Plus aka Alexa and we keep it in the kitchen and living room area (where we spend a lot of our time together). I mostly ask it random questions throughout the day whether it's related to the recipe I'm cooking for dinner, or how traffic is looking before I'm headed out the door to a meeting. It's super simple and easy to set up and I love that it's compatible with our other smart home devices like this Philips table lamp or this Sylvania Smart+ Indoor plug that we have our Christmas tree lights plugged into. Since the Echo Plus has a smart home hub built in, you can simply say “Alexa, discover my devices,” and Alexa will get your smart devices connected in minutes, so you can easily control them by voice. I can walk into the room and say "Alexa, turn on the Christmas tree" or "Alexa, turn on the lamp." I love having everything connected, it makes my life so much easier!
But I have to admit my very favorite thing to have Alexa do is play our Christmas playlist and have a dance party in the kitchen with Isla Rose and Jackson!!! (Isla loves to ask Alexa to play "Thunder," it's her favorite song right now! haha). Drew also hooked up our Echo Dot so when I leave the room where the music is playing on Echo Plus, I can use the multi-room audio feature to have it play in other rooms too! Nothing puts me in the Christmas spirit more than listening to my favorite Christmas songs, so I thought I'd share a few of my very favorites with you below!
