An Organized Fashionista...

An Organized Fashionista...

Posted by Rachel Parcell on

I'm sure some of you have experienced this first hand, but it is very difficult for a fashionista to be a fashionista
if her clothes, jewelery etc. are all in a jumbled mess and she can't find anything she has.
{and I'm referring to myself}
One of my {many} New Year's resolutions is to be more organized, not only my closet but also in
every aspect in my life. Since my closet was the most unorganized, I decided I would start with that.

Clothing:
My closet looked like this pretty much the whole month of December...
Frightening I know! In my defense, my closet isn't usually THAT unorganized I just took this pic on an
off day {the holidays are always when my closet is the craziest}!
So how did I organize the dog pile of clothes?!?!
...
First by category, ex. blouses {long sleeved, three quarter, short}, Sweaters {long sleeved, etc, etc}
Second by color {going from lights to darks} Here's the after picture...sigh... so much better!

Then I moved onto Socks, Tights, Undies & Workout clothes:
For these I simply bought three bins from Bed Bath & Beyond, stuck those babies in my closet and stuffed them full.
They're not that fabulous I know, but it works.

Jewelery:
Before I got on my re-organization kick, I use to keep all my jewelery {minus necklaces} in my dresser.
I hated that I didn't have my bracelets and earrings in my closet because I would end up walking back and fourth
between my closet and my dresser {trying on what seemed like endless amounts of sparkly bobbles} until I found the perfect accessories to adorn to my outfit.
Now I have these little pretties inside my closet and it's so much more convenient.

Belts:
I use to hang my belts by the buckle on one hanger. I thought this was a brilliant idea until every time I
went to grab a belt, the rest would come off with it. So I stole my husbands tie holder {he never used it}
to hang all my belts on and I can totally say it was one of my greatest ideas ever!

High Heels:
I lined up all my heels on the shelf... but to utilize more space I faced each pair opposite of each other
{see picture below}

Happy Thursday and happy organizing {hope I inspired you a little}
