Armpits are too open

This dress has potential, but it has an awkward fit and I don’t like how exposed the armpit area is. I thought it would be a little more body hugging, but it hangs loose on me and just doesn’t flatter me. Im 5’6”, 140 and ordered a size 8. I’m officially giving up on her brand, I’ve given it a lot of chances but the dresses just never quite look right on me and her sizing is inconsistent. I can’t even exchange this as I bought it on sale and exchanges aren’t allowed. Darn. :(
