‘My Burberry’…

There is something so magical about a London garden. Over the last year, I’ve begun collecting home and garden books to place around my home. Through burying my nose in these books, I’ve become completely inspired by English gardens. While Drew and I were designing our backyard, I drew inspiration from various gardens in England, particularly gardens located near London. When Nordstrom asked if I would participate in the ‘My Burberry’ launch on nordstrom.com I immediately got giddy and gave a big YES!!! Because well, it’s Burberry, I’ve been such a fan of the brand since highschool, but it wasn’t until I read the story of the fragrance when I really fell in love with the scent and grew even more excited to share it with all of you!

‘My Burberry’ draws inspiration from London gardens, specifically, a London garden after the rain. Something so majestic comes to mind when I envision this scene, the scent truly brings it to life. One of my favorite features of the fragrance is that it can be worn any time – day or night. It’s casual yet dressy, classic yet modern.

The iconic Burberry Trench was another form of inspiration for the fragrance. I’ve been dreaming of owning a Burberry trench for years, and when I read that the fragrance was patterned after the classic trench, I decided it was time to invest! The trench really pulled together my initial vision for this post.

  1. that trench is such a classic piece to a wardrobe, and so gorgeous. and I can’t wait to smell ‘my burberry.’ I’ve heard so many good things, so far! an english garden after the rain…I’m not sure it gets better than that.

    love, arielle
    a simple elegance

  2. This look is beautiful, I think you’ve captured quintessential London perfectly. The black turtle neck, the Burberry Trench, all of it reminds me of London streets in autumn! I’ll have to look into Burberry’s new fragrance. I’m up for anything that makes me feel like I’m in London :)

    The What’s In Between

  3. It’s becoming really off-putting how easy you are paid off. I think the article about you making 900,000 is a lie, and why didn’t you disclosing more of your sponsored posts from the past in accordance to SEC requirements? You’re really materialistic and cheesy now. Either this is who you were all along or you just became creepy obsessed with money and shopping. Either way, your blog sucks now. You’re like a bad ad.

    1. Mk,

I always disclose at the bottom of each post if it’s paid and each brand I work with has to approve the post so there always is disclosure, otherwise the brand would not approve it. If the post doesn’t say anything at the bottom, it wasn’t a paid post. And I would love if everything that was written on the internet were true, but it’s definitely not, so take the article about how much I make with a grain of salt.

Also, there is nothing that forces you to read my blog, if you think my blog sucks than please don’t waste your time reading it or leaving hurtful comments. Just move on and read things that make you happy and inspire you.

  4. You created a perfect look to go along with your new fragrance! I love how you mixed the classic trench with modern peep-toe booties. You are wearing classic pearls for earrings yet in a more modern design! I am very interested in trying the fragrance due yo it’s notes. I love freesia, patchouli and various roses. Very excited to try it based upon your comments. I’m interested to know what notes you notice most when you wear it?

  5. Unfortunately, I feel like all of your posts are endorsements now. It’s disappointing to see so many vs. original content lately.

  6. Sounds so lovely! And I agree one hundred percent on how elegant and soothing london gardens are. Makes me excited to see how your backyard will come together, hope to see a post as soon as its finished!! Loooove the trench coat as well! (: Xo

  7. I love Burberry too but find it ironic that in London everyone constantly complains about the rain. It was one of the reasons I moved away. The Kyoto Garden in Holland Park is amazing. Love the fragrance too.
