I finally did it! The first outfit that I’ve photographed since giving birth to my Isla Rose. I might still have my maternity jeans on and I may or may not have popped a button on my shirt after taking these photos (still not back down to my regular size) but hey, I tried!

I spent the long weekend in Deer Valley with my family. Although both Isla and I laid low and I had all sorts of anxiety to leave my house for the weekend, it really was so nice to get out of the house and have a change of scenery. It’s just what we needed!

I hope you all had great Memorial Day weekend, thanks for stopping by! Don’t forget about the Nordstrom Half Yearly Sale where you can save up to 40% off your favorite styles. Goes through May 31st!

  1. You look so beautiful at every size! Congratulations on your sweet baby girl and a huge thank you for even posting so soon after her birth! You are already a supermom! :)

  2. You look wonderful! Remember it took nine months to get there, so give yourself time to heal and enjoy the baby. And it’s good to get out, too. I remember feeling that way, and it gets better too! It’s all good, and you look lovely!

  3. You look great!! I love this look! I hope you and your family had a wonderful trip! I definitely need those red Hunter boots.

    Thanks for sharing!

  4. Hi Rachel,

Congrats! Isla is beautiful. Would you ever consider doing a post on how you chose your stroller? I am stuck between the Buffalo and the UppaBaby Vista.

  5. You look wonderful and your little is gorgeous! I’ve been seeing your pics on IG and I cannot help but wonder, are you not in pain? Didn’t you have a C-section 2-3 weeks ago? I am sorry for being so intrusive but I remember not being able to even walk fast until I passed the two weeks mark. Again, your family is gorgeous. Blessing to all of you.

  6. I have been following your blog for several months now; you are so beautiful and your baby girl is amazing! I just want to say thank you for letting us see you as you are after giving birth. I have a 12 week old baby boy and I too have a few pounds to lose. You and I are the same size and it’s a bit shocking to see some body parts shift-haha!! I feel like so many women online look so fit right after giving birth that it’s tough to decipher what is true. I love that you are so real and honest and beautiful. You look amazing. Enjoy being a mommy- it’s totally rocked my world as I can see it has rocked yours too.

  7. you and kate middleton!!! you look so good right after birth!!! even if those are materinity jeans, i could never tell. i’m so jealous!

  8. It definitely is hard to travel for the first time with your baby! Home is such a safe place that is comfortable and has everything you need. But I’m so happy to hear that you got out of the house and had a wonderful time. You look incredible, Rach!!! I really loved the denim on denim look with the red accents and that fabulous bag! A great Memorial Day look! The blanket that Isla is snuggled up in is so beautiful. So happy for your official first fashion post after the arrival of sweet Isla Rose!!!

  9. LOOK AT YOU!! Girl you are doing great, you look awesome!! Hope Isla is doing well and you of course along with Drew and Dash!

  10. Congrats on your first post-baby outfit post! Thank you for making the rest of us feel ‘normal’. ;) This is such a realistic look for a mom having had a new baby. You are doing great! Because of the amount of stuff needed for a newborn, I’m so impressed that you ventured out for a weekend getaway! The first time we did that was when our daughter turned 1. She was sleeping so well (11 hrs or so straight) that once we put her down for the night we could relax. I traveled with her via plane all over the country by myself and again-all the packing! It’s totally doable, just not as easy as before and of course everything takes way more time which I’m sure you’re learning too. It’s always nice to come home back to a regular routine though and the comfort of your own space, as much as I love to get out, it’s so much easier at home with babies.

  11. Congratz! The first month is always the toughest, but you’ll make it!!
I remember I was terribly scared to imagine to take the train with my baby and now I’m thinking, Why I was so afraid? :D
Now she just turned 4 months and tougher than before. Enjoy motherhood!

  12. Rachel, you don’t even look like you’ve ever had a baby! And, that is the coolest stroller I have ever seen! I hope you’ll do a post about your favorite baby items. Take care :)

  13. Hi Rach, you look great. I just had my son on the 10th, also via c section and I wish I looked as great as you. Glad you were able to get out and enjoy yourself!
