We finally had our gender reveal shoot a few days ago and today I’m SO excited to finally share with all of you what we’re having (it’s long over-due)!

We’re having a BOY (as I’m sure you could tell by the photos)!!! Our little family couldn’t be more excited but if I’m being honest, I’m a little nervous. I have three sisters and no brothers. I’ve been around girls my whole life so raising a boy is a little intimidating to me because it just feels so new. Drew is so excited he can hardly contain it! I can’t wait to see him with our new little guy!

  1. Congrats!!! Beautiful pictures!! Boys are great- I have 2 of them. They are so loving and lots of fun!! And they LOVE their mommies!!

  2. Congratulations! How very exciting for you and your family! Having kids is intimidating because they really don’t come with a manual. All we can do is what we think is best for our kids and give them all the love they need. You’re going to do great just like with Isla. So excited for you!

  3. Congratulations! And don’t be nervous, I have a little son and when we found out we are having a boy I was nervous a little bit too, but I can see now having a little boy is the best thing in the world! Greetings from Prague ?

  4. Having a son is so amazing! I had a girl first as well, she’s smart, fearless- and now driving! ? My son, is my cuddler, even as a teenager he loves to just hang out with us. There is a bond between a mother and son that is truly wonderful. You will have nothing to worry about! Yes, he may get scrapes and bruises. Play in the dirt. Even take flowers, from the neighbors yard (mine did that) to give to you! You will understand the saying “momma’s boy” once you have him. Enjoy both of your children and the differences! They make you view the world,as hectic as it can be, completely differently! Congratulations to you all! ??????

  5. Rachel, I’m so excited for you and your little family! I have a brother and the bond we share is like now other. Now you’re going to have two incredible guys not only looking after you, but your sweet little Isla! Don’t be nervous; you’re going to do an amazing job with your little boy, just like you did with Isla so far!

  6. Congratulations to the whole family!!!!
Boys are a lot of fun, a bit more mischievous. I am sure that you will be a great mom to him as well. Isn’t it super cute to think that Isla will be an elder sister. ;)

  7. It’s a boy! Congratulations! I could tell by the blue hydrangeas (which were a feature on my wedding cake lol). All the best. I’m sure you will do great with a little boy, and he will have a great dad.

    Mich xx

  8. Congratulations Rachel you’ll do fine. I have 2 boys of my own that are 16,14 and to be honest they were pretty easy. My daughter is 10 going on 21 and she’s so emotional smh. But you and drew will do great trust. Xoxo P.S I enjoyed the q&a and I love you guys ??

  9. Aww how exciting!!! I also have a little girl just one month older then Isla. You’ll be a great boy mom I’m sure :)

  10. AWWW! I love the simpleness of this shoot. It actually took me a minute to zone in on the blue lol. Super cute. I think maybe some boys are just what your family needs ;) And I can’t wait to see how you style for a boy! xx MorningApple

  11. Congratulations on your sweet boy! I have a little girl too and am currently pregnant with a little boy as well! It’s safe to say that this girly girl is a little nervous about the change!

  12. Congrats Parcell Family!!!!! I was really hoping you would have a little boy! They are so sweet indeed when it comes to their Mama’s! Plus, Capri and Cannon, and Isla and her little brother too! They can all play together. This is so exciting! I can’t wait to see them all together, it’ll be so special! Wishing you all the best for the rest of your pregnancy! XO

  13. Congratulations!!!! My little boy and your Isla are just two days apart in age and I felt so unprepared for a boy but it is AWESOME! Boys are all about mama and they like to be naughty and play a little rough, you’re going to love it:) I’m hoping for a girl next hehe, fingers crossed. xx

  14. Congratulations!! It’s so exciting every time to find out what you are having! Boys are so easy and lots of fun, you will know what to do when he arrives and you have lots of boy advice from your sister already! So happy and excited for the four of you! :)

  15. It’s a blessing from the sky … Such a complete family, having both a girl and a boy, it will be just as nice. I adore photos that have The Adorable DasherBoy, that little furry friend completes the word happiness in any family! Congratulations Rachel again on having a Prince to join the Princess Isla Rose. So lovely! :)

  16. Yay, congratulations! How exciting! We have two littles ones a boy and girl 20 months apart and it was so fun watching them grow up together like twins(they are 9&7 now) But we always call them our ‘old little married couple’ because they will bicker then find their way back to each other, snuggling on the couch! It’s really the best, congrats again!

  17. I have two sisters, no brothers – and a now 4-month old boy. I completely understand the nervousness and new territory. I felt the exact same way. So far it doesn’t seem quite so different, but with only 4 months under my belt, I can’t exactly speak to raising a 4 year old boy.

    You’ll do wonderfully I’m sure.

  18. Isla is such a beautiful name. I just wanted to say hello, and that my 14 year old daughter loves your blog! She introduced me to the world of fashion blogs, all so interesting and fun! She even started her own… how cute is that? She has a friend who started photography (also 14) come and take her photos. She is so inspired by your classic looks, and as a mom of many girls (4! – and 3 boys), I appreciate the modesty and classy way you present your looks. THANK YOU FOR THAT!!!!!!! -Julie Perrault

    1. She did?! What’s her blog? I want to see it! I’m so glad that more women and girls are starting blogs that are inspiring and modest. :)

      Xo Rach

  19. Congratulations! I too am a gal with three sisters and have a first-born daughter and second-born son. I was a bit scared of raising a son but I can assure you that your heart will experience a love and a bond like no other. My son is 21 now and he will readily admit he is a momas boy! PS. You are an amazing mom to Isla Rose and surely will be to you son!

    1. Oh my gosh, we’re like the same!! haha Thanks for taking the time to comment :) I’m secretly kind of excited to have a mama’s boy!

      Xo Rach

  20. As a mother of seven, I feel your excitement! We only found out for our seventh, and for the other six it was a surprise. It’s fun both ways!! Anyways, congratulations to you and Drew on expecting a boy. We have 3 boys and 4 girls. We love the differences each bring to the family dynamic. Embrace it, although it is a new change! It will be so much fun and the most different kind of bond. Mother-son is so special and unique… in a beautifully different kind of way! You’ll get used to it all. Just give yourself time to adjust! xo Julie

    1. Wow, I don’t think I could wait 6 times without finding out the gender!!! What a fun surprise though! That’s so true, I’ve heard about the mother/son bond and I can’t wait for that :)

      Xo Rach

    1. Drew honestly couldn’t be more excited!! I can’t wait to see them interact together :) Thanks for the sweet comment!

      Xo Rach

  21. Congrats! I grew up with a sister and had a little boy last July – it has been so much fun and so exciting having a little boy in the family!

  22. Congrats! I only have a sister and felt the same way you are feeling when I found out we were having a boy. Then, I got so attached to idea of having a little guy that I couldn’t imagine anything else! Baby boys are such a blessing and so much fun! Enjoy and congratulations to your family!

    1. I bet! I honestly can’t wait! I know it will be different than what I’ve known but I know it will be just amazing :)

      Xo Rach

  23. OMG…how exciting. My son is almost 10 and guess what we are having a GIRL!!! After 10 years we are finally getting our baby girl in the family!!! You will do great with a boy!!! Congrats!!

    1. OH MY GOSH congratulations!!!!! Girls are SO fun (that’s all I’ve ever known! haha) but that is amazing. I’m so excited for you!

      Xo Rach

  24. Congratulations!!! My second was a boy and it is so fun…and so tiring. Seriously boys are into EVERYTHING!! My little boy Jackson is 1 year old and is so different than my little Hadley was. He is constantly ripping things out and all over the place. But he is so sweet. And seriously so beautiful. Haha boys are so pretty. I get asked constantly what HER name is and I’m like uh she’s a boy. Ha ha. Congrats. That is so fun. One of each.

  25. Congratulations to you, Drew, Isla and Dash! Such exciting news!! Not having a little girl, I don’t know how it is to raise one, but I do have a boy and I absolutely love it! Boys are so fun and he’ll have Isla to show him the ropes. :)

  26. Congrats, Rach!

I had a little boy in December, and had the silly notion in mind that because I’m a girl and envisioned pink and gold everything, I would have a girl. I felt the same way, and had no clue what to do with a little boy, but he is absolutely the sweetest and now I can’t imagine if he had been a girl. Finding cute clothes is a bit harder, but you’ll be as great a mom to him as to Dasher and Isla!

  27. Congratulations! You are going to raise the sweetest, kindest, most wonderful baby boy! I am so excited for your family! Plus I am sure Emily can give you some tips on raising a boy :)

  28. Oh. My. Gosh!!! Congrats Rachel!! I just love your blog and watching your family grow! Your journey and your faith is such an inspiration! bleasings to you and your family!! Xo, Anna from

  29. Such a simple and sweet gender reveal…the only way you could have topped this is if nature made blue peonies! ;) I have 2 boys and they love their mama like nobody’s business!
    He’ll be your little prince.

  30. Congrats, Rachel, Drew, and Isla!! I’ve been anxiously awaiting this post and I’m so excited for you two! My husband and I have two girls and his sister is pregnant with her FIFTH girl so we aren’t used to having boys around our house either. Of course since I say that I’ll probably have a boy next. Haha! I can’t wait to see your little guy. XOXO God bless you!

  31. This pictures are STUNNING!!! WOW!!! I love how you did the gender reveal with the flowers! You have such a beautiful family! I am pregnant too and don’t know what I am going to think about a boy either!!! I am having so much fun with my little girl (who is 2 weeks older than Isla!) I get your emotions!!! xo

  32. Congratulations Rach!!! I thought you would have a girl, but if God blessed you with a boy it’s wonderful for you and your family. Little Isla will have a bodyguard hahaha

  33. Congratulations!! I’m sure you’ll be a great mother to both little kiddos, it’ll all fall in place along the way and there’s so many people with great knowledge out there that you can find great advice from.

Sadly your new beautiful blog doesn’t really work very well with Bloglovin, and on iPhone it doesn’t load anything even if you click through to your site without opening Safari. Please have a look at that, love following your posts :)

  34. Congrats! boys are so much fun! I have two girls and one baby boy that is three and he is the most adorable, loving and caring little boy!! You’ll do great!!!! Good luck! Maybe now you’ll have baby boy clothes to sale!!!

  35. Congrats!..Perfection! Lil’boys are the best…I have 2 boys and 2 girls..most precious, God sent gift..being a Mom to both Genders! Good Luck…get the roller skates out! Non stop action about to happen Rachel!

  36. Congratulations! We’re in the same boat! A baby girl at home and a boy on the way in June! I agree, having a girl is easy, and the idea of a boy sounds hard! Even finding boy clothes has been a lot more difficult! The selection isn’t as big! Have you found any good places to buy boy clothes? Congrats again!

    1. OH really?! Congrats on your new baby boy! I haven’t even started shopping for him yet but I’ll keep you posted when I do :)

      Xo Rach

  37. Boys are so wonderful! Dressing them up is so fun, even though sometimes you have to look harder for great boy clothes. The fun energy they bring to a family is great and there is nothing better than a little mama’s boy.

  38. Congratulations!! Boys are the best :) i was nervous to have a boy too but seriously i am sooo glad for my boy! If i am an all boy mama i will be ok with that! My sweet mamas boy is constantly giving me hugs, holding my hand, and looks adorable in a bow tie. It will be so much fun!

  39. Congrats! It will be fun to style a little girl and a little boy now, and coordinate their outfits! Maybe a bowtie line will be your next venture :)

  40. Rachel and Drew!! Congratulations!!! I knew it was going to be a boy, having a boy is so much fun, it’s a completely different world! You guys are the cutest family I see and it is not little anymore! Good luck for you and enjoy the pregnancy and just three of you

  41. I’m the same way! I grew up with 2 sisters and had a boy and I was so nervous- but it’ll be way easier than you think. I’m a firm believer that all boys are born as mama’s boys so you’ll love it. Congratulations!

  42. I knew you were having a boy! I’m 34 weeks pregnant with mine (and my first) and I too grew up with no brothers, but the farther along I’ve gotten in pregnancy the more excited I’ve gotten about having a boy to change things up. And I’m like you, I can’t wait to see my husband interact with him! As long as he’s healthy that’s all that matters ??

  43. I am sooo happy for you!! Congrats!!! Having a brother is the greatest thing in the world. Even though my brother is four years younger than me, he still looks out for me and takes care of me like he was an older brother. I can’t wait for Isla and him to be together!
    P.s. you look great!

  44. I have constantly been going to your page to see what you’re having and I’m so happy for you! Congratulations for a BOY! Can’t wait to see how you dress him! <3

  45. Welcome to the world or boys! Boys are the best!! I have two and they are so fun, energetic and easy to accessories ;). Congrats to you and Drew! ?

  46. Congrats, I’m so cuter for you. Boys are def very adventurous. But you will be great, and baby Isla will just have a blast with baby brother.

  47. Congratulations! I felt the same way when I found out I was having a son I come from a family of 7 girls and felt completely out of water but boys are a joy and it just comes together! God bless your pregnancy in every way! Much love, Abby

  48. I’m so happy for you guys!! It’s ok to be nervous about having a boy but everything will be just fine, I’m sure you’ll figure out. I guess you have some practice with Emily’s baby boy.
You can really tell on Drew’s face how excited he is.
You are so lucky because when you get pregnant you only get the extra weight on the bump. I have seen other women who are thin and once they get pregnant they struggle a lot with the extra weight going everywhere (arms, legs, etc) an example will be Kim Kardashian. I wonder which will be my case once I’m pregnant?
I guess what is most important is to have a healthy baby. I wish yours is very healthy :)

  49. Congratulations! Now you’ve got the Millionaire Family! Isla will love having a little boy to play with and boss around. All the best for the rest of your pregnancy. Hope it goes fast for you.

  50. Congrats!!! I have 3 girls so I wouldn’t know what to tell you about boys but I am sure you will do great! It’s amazing how natural everything comes the second you have a baby.
One question: would you mind telling me where you took these pictures? I have been looking for a place like this for my family pictures this year. TIA!

  51. i had a little boy last july. was terrified! i was googling “how often are gender scans wrong” because i wanted it to be a girl so badly. but the instant he was born all the fear vanished. boys are just as sweet and wonderful as girls, you will fall in love with him and know exactly how to parent him (as much as one can know that, anyway, haha).

    1. Oh that is so funny!!! After having Isla I thought I could easily do another girl, but I couldn’t be more excited for a baby boy!

      Xo Rach

  52. Hi Rachel,

I love your blog. I was wondering if you could share where did you get your shoes. I know you can’t see them in any of the pictures in your post, however, you can see them in the instagram picture of you and Drew.

Thanks for sharing and congrats on the baby!

  53. Congrats on the little boy! My husband and I expecting our first baby in late July and we are having a boy also. My husband is just over the moon since he always wanted a boy first so if we have a little girl the second time around he can protect his little sister! Congrats again!

  54. Hi Rach,
First of all congratulations!! I hope you have a healthy easy pregnancy and a beautiful healthy baby! I wanted to tell you that I’m the oldest of 4 girls too! And my sisters and I all love your blog and Instagram pictures! You have amazing taste and I love that you are always so modestly dressed too! I have 2 boys and 3 girls and I was also super nervous to have a boy! But they are so adorable and fun. I hope u and your beautiful family have lots of joy and success in all you do.
    All the best,

  55. Congratulations to you and your beautiful family. A baby is a blessing, especially when it’s a beautiful baby boy!!!

  56. Congratulations! Boys are sooooooooo much fun! Don’t be nervous…you are a great Mom! So much goodness in these photos. …beautiful scenery, amazing dress, adorable Isla who always makes me smile and beautiful famiky. That pic of Drew and Isla laughing is just adorable! Love your pretty feminine style.

  57. Awwwww congrats!!! When we found out we were having a boy I was a little nervous as well cause we’ve been and all girls family as well, but you will do great…:)

  58. I am so excited for you, Drew, and Isla! You’re family is gorgeous and I can’t wait to see it grow even further. Congratulations, mama!

  59. How amazing, congratulations. I was as nervous. I’ve been around all girls, both my sister had girls, my first was a girl and when I had my boy the only one, from my side of the family a total shock. You will do just fine ? Congrats again, can’t wait to see the pics..

  60. Rach, it’s amazing having a boy! You will never feel so loved in your life! Boys are the best and being a boy Mom is even better! Enjoy! :)

  61. Congratulations! You are glowing!! I have to say, I think my favorite picture is the one of Isla and her daddy where she is on his shoulders and they both have the biggest smiles!!! You can tell they love each other and are so happy! You are absolutely stunning, and I love your bouquet!! Congratulations on your sweet baby boy!!!

  62. Many congrats, Rachel ! I guess your little family is not so little anymore :) I am the bigger sister of my little brother ( haha ) and I remember oh so well when I was still a kid (3 years old) that I was SO SO SO happy when my parents told me I’m gonna have a little brother. Although, I was very young and couldn’t understand what all of that meant, I still remember being SO excited and happy ! Even though Isla is still very young I can assure you she is veeeeeery happy deep inside !! They understand more than we think ! Wishing you all the best with the new baby boy and can’t wait for the name reveal haha! xo xo xo

  63. Not to worry, you will be just as a terrific mom as you are to Isla. Boys are wonderful, I have three, they love their moms, are loving, loyal and will protect you for life…congratulations

  64. Rachel!! I’m sooo excited and happy for you! Your baby boy is going to be just perfect! You’re such a great mom, you have nothing to worry about! :)

    What a wonderful family…!

  65. Congrats on baby #2, Rach & fam! Isla looks SO cute in her dad’s arms!! Adorable! :)
… Your concerns are fair!! I’ve got an older sister, and I had a girl… so I would be like… boys? What? Foreign? If I had a son! Haha! But you’ll be great at it, surely!! And you have a loving husband by your side to help!

    Have an awesome Thursday!!

    Amber ?
    Today’s Post: Skater Chic…

  66. I have a similar story. My mom was one of 3 girls, I am one of 3 girls, my sisters have all girls, and my first child was a girl. Number 2 was a boy and I felt so nervous! He is the absolute best thing to happen to us and it was a worry for nothing. Little boys hold their mama’s heart forever. Congrats!

  67. LOVE this! Little boys are the best! Where is this location? I’m taking family pictures and would love to shoot here!

  68. Congratulations! You will love having a little boy. My son is 7 months old and such a mama’s boy already. Just remember now Isla will always have someone to protect her even if he’s younger!! ?

  69. Boys are so great! We’ve got three and a girl! She just turned one on Tuesday! I had always hoped I would have a girl since I grew up with 4 brothers! They are crazy and wild but so much fun!! My youngest boy is 6, and they are very protective of me ? You will be great with a boy! So far they have been less drama and easier to handle than my little girl! You do a great job with Isla I am sure he will be just as great! ❤️

  70. Hi Rachel!

Congratulations!! I was from a family of all girls too. Both of my sisters had girls. I am the first in my family to have a boy. My kids: (Brooklyn who is 2 1/2 and Jayce is 16months) are 17months apart…I think close to how far apart Isla and your boy will be? Anyway it’s wonderful. I’ve really bonded with him. Brooklyn is a great big sis as I’m sure Isla will be. She will still be too young to feel jealous and will LOVE her little brother!

    1. Yes! They’ll be about 16 months apart :) Thanks for sharing!! I’m really excited for this new adventure!

      Xo Rach

  71. Rachel,
I was one of 2 girls growing up – no boys. I have 2 sons and a baby girl and LOVE my boys. Boys LOVE their mamas and are super fun and funny. Boys don’t sweat the small stuff.
It is such a gift to be able to experience both a daughter and son as a mother.
    Enjoy every minute of it.

  72. Congratulations! I have fraternal twin boys Brooks and Henry who just turned 1 and they are sooo wonderful! The bond between a Mommy and her son is truly amazing and you will see what I mean when you hold your sweet boy! You will love having a boy!!! :)

  73. How exciting! I am one of three girls and had two daughters. I can imagine the excitement and wonder you have. Congratulations to you and your precious family!

    1. I for sure thought it was another girl too!!!! We are all a little shocked. But super excited! haha

      Xo Rach

  74. Congratulations!!!! So exciting!! I am waiting for my little boy to arrive. He is overdue but cannot wait to meet him. Sending many blessings!!! Can’t wait to see more pics :) love your blog and style! Thank you for sharing

  75. Yay! I had a little girl first and a boy second as well. My little guy is almost two weeks old and I can honestly say that I am in love with having one of each. He is the most precious little guy ever and I’m so grateful to have him. :) My daughter is also the best big sister ever which makes it super fun. :)

    Simply Rachel Nicole

  76. Congratulations! I can definitely relate to your nervousness about having a boy. When I found out I was having a boy, I literally didn’t know how I would deal. But he’s 6 months old now and literally the most fun thing ever. They really are the sweetest and most gentle little souls. You will be an amazing mama to him…. and he will show you a whole new side of yourself that you never knew existed! I can’t wait to follow along on the journey. xoxo

  77. Congratulations to you and the rest of you family! Little boys are so exciting. I have one myself, (now nine), and I have loved watching him grow up. I also have a daughter, (thirteen), who introduced me to your blog and is begging me to start a blog of her own. She really looks up to you and I am so glad she has a smart and classy role model. Congratulations again!

    1. Oh that is so sweet!!! Thank you so much for the kind comment. I bet your daughter is an amazing little lady!! Tell her to follow her dreams :)

      Xo Rach

  78. Congrats! Having a boy is the best! They are the best babies and are such loving and caring toddlers. I grew up with all girls as well so I totally understand! You will love it! XO

  79. Boys are amazing, so fun and loving! They love their mommies so much. They are protective and not to much drama! I have two boys, now 25 and 28! I love they to the moon and back, and I know they Love me lots! Congratulations, you are blessed!

    1. That’s what I’m most excited for, to have a little mama’s boy! haha Thanks so much Rachael!

      Xo Rach

  80. I have boy/girl 2 year old twins and a 2 month old son. The mother/son bond is amazing!! They always want the comfort of their mamas. Congrats!

  81. Congratulations Rachel!! So happy for you and your family ?? I’m also from Utah county:) And I’m wondering where these pictures were taken? The location is gorgeous. And your family is so cute:)

  82. Congrats to you and your family. Boys are endearing and loving to their mom, and they carry on the family name. ?
